“My child, when you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for trials.”
Sirach 2:1-6
It can be challenging to follow Christ, as it comes with a cost. However, that cost is given meaning when we live in this trusting and loving relationship with God. God accompanies us in our hardships and sacrifices.
When we are close to Jesus, he gives us the strength to overcome our weaknesses and seek humility by accepting challenges.
Through prayer, we experience that everything is possible with God’s help. Be humble and patient in handling trials to practice Jesus’ love, faith and hope. How do we prepare ourselves for the different trials and suffering we face? What steps is Jesus asking us to take to persevere in our following? Do we embrace our cross with humility?
