“’The Son of Man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will.’”

Matthew 26:14-25

Throughout the last few weeks, we have seen how Jesus followed God’s will and was obedient to his plans, fulfilling the mission and will of the father to the very end.

He knew that doing the Father’s will would cost him his life, but he was willing to give it up for all of us. Prayer enabled Jesus to remain strong in his faith and obedience to God.

Prayer also helps us love, trust, and surrender to God and to know and do his will. As Jesus tells us, he came to serve, not to be served. We, too, are called to serve and to love, laying down our lives for others. This is the most courageous act we can do for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Do we recognise God’s plans for us? Do we seek to fulfil our mission for Jesus?
