“This disciple is the one who vouches for these things and we know that his testimony is true.”
John 21:20-25
How often do we believe a rumour? Jesus told his disciples one thing – what he politely said to John was to mind his own business and focus on following him.
Yet not everyone got that message and continued talking about what would happen to Judas and they had misunderstood. How much attention do we pay to second hand stories or rumours? We can ask God to help us focus on his message for us and not get distracted with other’s lives. To let go of the words from social media or news reports and instead tune into the direct message from Jesus and those close to him so we know we are understanding it as it was intended.
