“Here is the nation that will not listen to the voice of the Lord its God.”
Jeremiah 7:23-28
God is calling each of us to listen to him. To be fully present and attentive to God with our whole person. When we listen, we show that we are interested in and value what the other has to say. In today’s reading, this is what God commands, but the people did not listen. It is one thing to listen and hear what God is saying, but another thing to be obedient to what we have heard and put it into practice.
How is my relationship with God today? Do I listen for his voice in my life? Do I look to him for guidance, direction and correction? Am I faithful to him and what he has said? Today, let us practice listening, and turn our hearts again back to God who loves us and never tires of forgiving us.
