“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast, it is not proud.”
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
People have many different ideas and beliefs about what love means and what it looks like. Even within ourselves, we have different experiences and understandings of love. But more importantly, when we listen to what God says it is, do we live it?
Today we can reflect on the words (even from several biblical translations) with his definition. We can ask God to show us where we are living love and where and what inside us blocks or separates us from it.
Love is: patient, kind, rejoices with the truth, and never fails. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Love is not: envious, boastful, puffed up, easily provoked, proud, arrogant, or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing.
