“There will be rejoicing in heaven over one repentant sinner.”
Luke 15:1-10
We know what it is like to lose something of value to us. We notice when it is missing, and search all over until we find it. How much more then, does God value us, and go searching for us when we have lost our way. We may feel like the lost sheep today, or someone we love may come to mind when we pray with this passage. Would I be ready to leave the 99 sheep and go after the one that is lost? Would I rejoice with the Lord when that one is found? This is exactly what God does for us.
Today, let us pray that we may experience being found by the Lord today, the one who carries us on his shoulders rejoicing. We also pray for the other lost sheep who need to be found, and be encouraged to go after them, showing them the same loving care and pursuit that God has shown us.
