“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you…”

Psalm 63:1-3, 7-8

We may wonder why we sometimes feel empty, dissatisfied, and unhappy for no reason.  Through prayer, we may discover that perhaps our hearts have wandered away from God, so our hearts long for God’s presence in our lives. When we are distant from God, we feel that something is missing and our life is incomplete.  At these times, we need to put more effort into seeking him. In seeking God; we realise that he too is seeking, longing and waiting for us to return to him with all our hearts, mind, soul and strength.

To find him, we need to exercise our love and faith.  The more we share God’s love, the closer we are to him, and he will quench our thirst.  Do we desire to seek God or something else – money, pleasure, selfishness, pride?  Do we put effort into holding on to God’s love?
