Do we dig deep to lay our foundations or do we ask for God’s help and then move on without applying his response to our lives? There is nothing to stop us continuing on with our career decisions, personal behaviours, relationship choices, family decisions in whatever way we wish regardless of God’s word.
However, we are reminded here that when life brings challenges, we will find we are not prepared or able to meet them. Instead, loss or greater difficulties will arise due to the lack of depth and solid foundations of prayer, of building our relationship with God. Do we want to be ill equipped and more susceptible to being shaken, broken and ruined or are we choosing to really listen to God who wants to give us all we need to navigate stormy times?
