‘A sword will pierce your soul too’
Luke 2:33-35
There is a price to be paid to follow Jesus. Mary paid a great price in becoming the mother of Jesus. The disciples paid a price to follow Jesus. throughout the ages, Christian believers have had to pay a price to live for God. All of this is eclipsed by the price Jesus paid on the cross for our redemption. If you follow after Jesus, there is a price you will have to pay. However, the price we pay pales in comparison with our eternal reward. Mary saw her son rise from the dead. The disciples were commissioned to bring the message of the gospel to the world. The kingdom of God is spreading across the globe, binding people together as brothers and sisters in Christ. And Jesus has ascended to the throne of God with all authority in heaven and on earth. The blessings we receive far outweigh the price we pay. God always rewards the faithfulness of his people. As his committed disciples, we must always remain steadfast in times of challenge, setting our spiritual eyes on the goal of our faith and the great reward of eternal life.
