“It is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead.”
Luke 24: 35-48
While the disciples were still anxious and fearful, Jesus enters into their midst with a greeting of peace. He shows them that he is risen and alive! He reminded them of what they had forgotten; that he must fulfil everything written about him, including suffering and rising on the third day. His presence brought them understanding and a renewed sense of hope. Pointing to his wounds, he shows the depth of his love; to endure the cross. Is there any part of us that still doubts the love of God, that he would endure the cross out of love for me? Today let us allow Jesus to enter into our hearts, including the parts that are forgetful, afraid or doubtful. He says ‘Peace be with you’. Let us pray also for a renewed sense of hope because of his resurrection. He is alive and with us, and because of him, there is always hope!
