“The prodigal.”
Luke 15:1-3,11-32
As we move through this season of Lent, we must always call to mind God’s mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. We can do this today as we pray the passage of the of the Prodigal Son. As you read this passage, what strikes you? Who do you identify with? Talk to God about this.
At different times in our lives, we may have identified with the younger and older son. What is striking in this passage is that both needed to encounter the Father’s mercy.
One was living away from home, and the other was physically at home with the Father, but his heart from distant Wherever and however we find ourselves today, the Father awaits our arrival. He waits with love, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness.
Lord, we pray that we might have the humility to get up from where we are and journey back to God, knowing that we have always been loved.
