“No prophet is ever accepted in his own country.”

Luke 4:24-30

As we pray today’s passage, we are called to overcome familiarity bias, recognising and honouring the wisdom and gifts within our immediate circles. The stories of the widow in Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian serve as powerful reminders of God’s inclusive grace, urging us to look beyond our boundaries and embrace the diversity of His love. Just as Jesus faced rejection in Nazareth, we too may encounter resistance when sharing our truths with those who know us well.

When we witness God’s favour upon someone close to us, our own faith and belief in God’s provision for us can be challenged. We may wonder why certain blessings are being poured out on others rather than on us. However, it is essential to remember that God’sfavour is not limited or exclusive; it is abundant and available to all who seek it with a humble heart. Instead of allowing jealousy or doubt to consume us when we see God’s favour shining on others, we should use it as a reminder to draw closer to Him and seek His guidance and provision in our own lives. Will you join in spreading light, even when faced

with darkness?
