Mark 7:1-13
In the gospel today, we see Jesus once again speaking out against the inconsistencies and hypocrisy of the Pharisees. who have given more importance to human traditions than to the law of love the human heart. When we ook at the lite of Jesus. we see his care for the person over the rigid adherence to the law. If someone needed healing on the sabbath. he healed them. The Pharisees, however, would see this as breaking the law.
Are there times when we hold too tightly to human traditions and laws, forgoing the law of love. kindness. and compassion? Talk to Jesus about any areas of our lives where we pay lip service and nave our nears tar away from him. Lord, help us to be authentic and consistent followers of your law of life.
