“I have come so that you may have life and have it to the full.”

John 10:1-10

Our reflection on today’s passage encourages us to deepen our relationship with Jesus, recognising Him as our shepherd and gate. We are challenged to listen for His voice in our lives, trust in His guidance, and embrace the abundant life He offers. We are reminded of the security and community found in following Christ, urging us believers to remain vigilant against influences that seek to lead us astray. Jesus is telling us to persevere and do good things while we are here on earth. For as long as He is with us, we will always have our light.

In the next phase of our journey, we will always find our way through Him. Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Jesus also refers to Himself as the gate for the sheep. This metaphor highlights that He is the only way to salvation and a fulfilling life. By entering through Him, we believers will find safety and community, contrasting with those who seek to enter by other means, whom He describes as thieves and bandits. Will you always accept Jesus as the gate to your life?
