“The Father loves you for loving me and believing that I came from God.”
John 16:23-28
Jesus assures us of God’s love. Do we recognise how much God loves and delights in his son Jesus and also delights in our love for and trust in Jesus also? The disciples had not prayed to God using Jesus’ name before because Jesus was with them on earth, but praying in his name shows that we understand who he really is.
God delights in seeing that his Love is received and that we trust him to share our heart’s desire with Him in the knowledge of who He is. Do we believe he loves us and wants the best for us, and all we need to do is ask in Jesus’ name? As we pray today, we can consider how we want to show him that we recognise the gift of Jesus and that we trust it is through him that we can receive abundant joy.
