“Look: there is the Lamb of God”
John 1:29-34
John was already preaching about the Messiah even before he knew Jesus’ exact identity. He trusted God to reveal who the Messiah was in his time. In the same way, this Christmas, we ask God to reveal who the Messiah is to each one of us personally, the Lamb of God who has come to us, not only as our Saviour at the end of our earthly lives, but as the one who redeems us every single day.
The one who comforts us when we’re dealing with loss, the one who heals the wounds of our hearts and bodies, the one who guides us when we’re lost, the one who gives us purpose when we’re hopeless, the one who forgives us when we’ve done wrong and the one who loves us unconditionally. We pray for our eyes to be opened to see how Jesus has been and will continue to be present in our lives.
