“One is coming after me who existed before me”.
John 1:19-28
John the Baptist was clear about his mission to point people towards Jesus. The Jews sent priests and Levites to question John about his identity. John knew clearly that his mission was to be a voice to lead people to Jesus, and with his words and life to point people to Jesus.
Similarly, we can say that in the same way the Magi followed a “star” that led to Jesus, John is also a “star” that led people to Jesus. We can ask ourselves today, what is the mission and purpose of my life? How aware am I of the mission of leading people to Jesus with my word and life?
