“He cured them all but warned them not to make him known.”

Matthew 12:14-21

Today, we are shown the humility of Jesus. Even though he was the Son of God, he did not parade his good deeds to others. Instead, he was moved by the needs of others, especially those who were sick and in need of healing. Jesus’ eyes were always focused on the Father, which led him to focus on others in need.

We, too, are called to action to love and serve others; yet, this begins with prayer and dialogue with the Father. How are our relationships with our family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances? Do we see anyone who needs healing? Do we seek to heal or seek to please? Let our actions imitate the goodness and humility of Jesus, always willing to help those who are in need and making every effort to encounter them and lead them to a closer relationship with the Father.
