The Visitation of Mary

“The Almighty has done great things for me.”

Luke 1:39-56

Today, we celebrate the feast of the Visitation of Mary, and we are reminded of Mary’s generosity and care for her cousin Elizabeth, putting herself aside to attend to her elderly relative. Mary felt compelled to go and did not hesitate to go in haste. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, the child leapt in her womb; Mary brought with her the life of Jesus that she carried.

Just like Mary, we too are called to come out of ourselves and encounter those in need. We are called to carry in us the life of Jesus so that he can touch and help them. God has given us so many blessings; let us be generous in sharing these with others. Today, let us pray with Mother Mary and share the joy of God’s blessings that have been given to us with gratitude.
