Friday 23rd of January
“He appointed twelve to be his companions.“
Mark 3:13-19
Jesus goes up the mountain, and it is from this “higher” place that he calls “those whom he wanted.” And they came to him. It may seem like the call from Jesus is only for a select few. Undeniably, many are called, but few answer this call. We may believe that the “call” is unique to only a specific type of people and a call only to “religious life as a priest or nun.” True, some may experience the call in this way, giving their lives totally to him. But we are all called by our name to be with Jesus and to be sent out.
Let us make memory today of the first time in our own life when we felt Jesus calling us. And how did we respond? Let’s listen again to Jesus’ call and renew our response to him.
