“He warned them not to make him known as the Son of God.”
Mark 3:7-12
The ministry of Jesus was effective and far-reaching, drawing people from many different regions. So many people wanted just one touch of Jesus, in the hope that they would be healed, and Jesus did heal many. Even the unclean spirits recognised Jesus as the Son of God and fell down before him. As we read this passage, we can pay attention to what part of it strikes us, and talk to Jesus about that and ask questions.
What was that like for Jesus to become more and more recognised in these regions? Why did he order them not to make him known as the Son of God? The word of God is living and active, and always reveals something new to us. Today, let us come before Him with open hearts so that we may receive his word for us today.
