“I have not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to complete them.”
Matthew 5:17-19
Throughout Jesus’ life, he taught us how to love unconditionally, be compassionate, forgive, and follow his commandments. When we practice this love, we find fulfilment, and we experience complete joy in following the law of love. When we love others as Jesus has loved us, this allows us to experience joy with him in this life, as if we were already in heaven. How aware are we that we are part of God’s plan to help “complete” the law of love?
Conversely, when we lack love, we can become grumpy, complaining, selfish, and negative. These attitudes pull us away from God’s love. Which path will we choose – to follow Jesus or our own ways? Are we aware of how our words and actions might negatively affect others? How can we fulfil the law for Jesus?
