Ephesians 6:10-20 “Put on God’s armour and resist the devil.”

In today’s reading, Paul reminds us that as Christians, we are in a spiritual battle. Our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers of this world. This passage can be a daily prayer to put on the full armour of God. The girdle of truth, so that we may stand firm in what God says about us, not the lies of the enemy. The breastplate of righteousness, to guard our heart from evil. The shoes of peace to be a light to all I encounter today. To take the shield of faith, and hold it against the fiery darts that will be thrown at us; doubt, despair, denial, deceit. The helmet of salvation, to keep our mind and thoughts focused on Jesus, the one who saves us. And the sword of the spirit, the word of God, as we have encountered him personally today.

Let us put on the armour of God each day so that we can be ready to overcome with God’s help the various challenges.
