“The kingdom of God is among you.”
Luke 17:20-25
The Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God would come. They seemed to want some confirmation or certainty, even though Jesus was already among them. When Jesus speaks of the kingdom of God, we may think this refers to the eternal life we will hopefully enter into after our death. But the kingdom of God also starts with us here and now, while we are on earth. It is both within us and around us in the church.
How do we experience the kingdom of God? What does the kingdom of God look like around me, and within me? We can ask Jesus about this today. Today let us also pray to become more aware of the kingdom of God already among us, and to remain united to Jesus throughout our day.
