“You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my Church.”
Matthew 16:13-19
Just as Jesus trusted in Peter, he also trusts each one of us to help bring others into a personal relationship with him. We have been created in the image and likeness of God to be a sign of his love and presence in the world. It is the love, unity, peace and harmony that Jesus wants us to transmit and share with others; that is his plan for each of us.
Jesus also blesses us with the gift of prayer, the key to his kingdom, where we can connect with him and experience his love. We can also encourage other people to attend church to receive the Eucharist, pray and be kind to one another. We are blessed to have faith, churches, priests, missionaries, families and loved ones who support us in every way.
How can we step out of our comfort zone to support others? Do we realise that we hold a key to the kingdom of God?
