Monday 27th of March
‘But the Pharisees were saying, “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”’
Matthew 9:27-35
Despite the judgements and criticisms of the Pharisees, Jesus chose to continue his mission. He did not let other opinions stop him from healing those in need and loving and serving others. When we follow Jesus, we may be confronted with opposition and questioned for our motives even though they were good. Do we continue to follow despite the criticisms and judgements of others? Or do we easily give in to the opinions of others and conform to their ways?
The obstacles Jesus faced only strengthened his faith and love for the Father. Let these opportunities of being criticised and judged be a turning point in our faith to help us grow in our love for Jesus and to be humble like him.
In this time of Lent, we are called to focus ourselves towards Jesus’ humble character, always loving and serving others and focused towards God the Father.
