“It is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead.”
Luke 24:35-48
After his resurrection, Jesus made many appearances to encourage his followers to believe that he had truly risen from the dead. As we hear and read these scriptures, we are invited to imagine ourselves in the place of the disciples and allow Jesus to encounter us, to enliven our faith and deepen our personal relationship with him.
Today, we can imagine how the disciples were afraid, and feeling let down, after Jesus was killed. We can share with Jesus how we are feeling too. He comes saying ‘peace be with you’, and reminds us of his faithfulness. How much do we need to be reminded of this, and need to be with him to receive hope and life and peace to counter our troubles, doubts, and anxiety. Which of Jesus’ words resonate with me the most today? Let us meditate on these words, sharing with him as with a close friend.
