“Prophets and holy men longed to hear what you hear.”
Matthew 13:10-17
Jesus often spoke in parables to convey a deeper message. Those with open hearts like the disciples and those in Jesus’ inner circle, were able to receive and understand it, while those who were closed off to it were unable to understand. We too are privileged to be Jesus’ disciple and to receive and understand his word for us through the means of prayer. He says ‘blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.’ Jesus has given us the grace of being able to see and hear – what is he inviting us to see and hear today? When we pray, are we open to receiving the message Jesus has for us? Who are we called to share the message we have seen and heard today?
