Luke 13:22-30 “The last shall be first and the first last.”

Not everything comes easy in life, and the more we make an effort, the more it pays off, whether it is work, study, love or life balance.  Jesus is reminding us to strive to do good so we can enter the kingdom of God to be with him.

Although we all have equal opportunity to love, be compassionate, selfless, not everyone chooses to follow the paths towards Jesus.  We may get stuck at the ‘narrow door’ because of our unwillingness to let go of our selfishness, worries, emptiness, and even our very selves.

Whether it takes a short or long time to come closer to Jesus, the most important thing is that we try our best, be determined, and desire to know Jesus more deeply.  Do we make an effort to spend time with Jesus each day?  What is the ‘narrow door’ for us?  What can we change to reach Jesus?
