Tuesday 1st of April
“The healing at the pool of Bethesda.”
John 5:1-3,5-16
We can imagine that we are the man by the pool, ill for thirty-eight years. We have been waiting by the pool, but no one will help us to be healed. Someone always steps down in front of us and we are powerless to act. Then Jesus comes to us and reaches out to us, even though He knows that we have been sick for many years. He speak to us directly, ‘Stand up, take your mat and walk.’
What decision do we make? Have we lost hope and given up? Or do we trust in Jesus and act in faith? We stand up, take up our mat and walk. Jesus wants to bring healing and restoration to all areas of our lives. If we act on what Jesus asks, He will heal our emotional and spiritual illnesses and people will see us rise up from our paralysis. Then we will be able to share the story of our healing and we can evangelize by showing how Jesus can bring hope and change to anyone, no matter how long they’ve been struggling.
