St Bartholomew, Apostle
“You will see heaven laid open, and the Son of Man.”
John 1:45-51
When we encounter Jesus, we realise how much he knows, loves, and cares for us. This love and care is what Nathanael experienced when he came to see Jesus with the help of Philip. He saw Jesus in his glory and showed great reverence, exclaiming Jesus as Rabbi and the Son of God.
In our prayer, do we desire to seek and come to Jesus and listen to his words? When we experience the glory of God, we begin to see the hopes and joys of this world despite all that is happening, having great trust in knowing that he is taking care of our needs so we can go out to others to make his love known. Today is also the feast day of St Bartholomew, also known as Nathanael; let us pray that we might be eager to encounter Jesus and witness the glory of God in our lives, which brings hope and peace. St Bartholomew, pray for us.
