“I am not worthy to have you under my roof: give the word, and my servant will be healed”
Matthew 8:5-17
This centurion had a position of authority and he still recognised Jesus power. He had humility rather than grandiosity. He had great faith in what Jesus could do in the lives of those he cared about. When we reach out to Jesus for help, when we receive him at Mass, do we have this kind of trust? Do we believe Jesus can heal those in our lives with simply his word from near or far?
Perhaps we can share with him the ideas around what we believe is possible based on our own limited understanding and expectations and listen for his response.
