“The feeding of the four thousand.”

Mark 8:1-10

How can we learn to see what Jesus sees? Where others see desolation, Jesus sees possibilities. Even when met with doubt, he asked his disciples, “How many loaves do you have?” because he knew that the Father is the God of possibilities and that nothing is too difficult for Him.

In life, when faced with roadblocks, we often focus on the obstacle itself, whether it lies within us or outside of us. But Jesus invites us to look beyond the difficulty and notice the opportunity, whether to grow in faith, extend compassion, practice generosity, or attempt what seems “impossible.”

We are not meant to do this alone. Just as Jesus prayed to the Father and all who ate were satisfied, so too can we trust that our Father can do all things. When we see through the eyes of Jesus, we begin to recognise that every limitation is a place where God’s abundance can still appear.
