“Cease to do evil; learn to do good.”

Isaiah 1:10,16-20

God was giving an urgent warning to the rulers of the cities, Sodom and Gomorrah. These cities are famous for the disasters that happened to them and their people because they did not listen to His instructions. God asked them to cease doing evil because it was always before His eyes. Instead of seeing His beloved people making themselves clean and doing good, He saw them turning to evil and sin and He heard the cries for help from the oppressed, orphans and widows.

We can imagine how God our Father is watching us and wanting the best for us. He has given us many gifts and He wants us as His children to fulfill our potential. What does God see when He looks over us? Does He see that we are willing and obedient, so that we will receive all of the goods things that He has promised to us? Or will God be disappointed and see us destroy ourselves like Sodom and Gomorrah. God our Father, please help us to learn from you, so that you can fill our lives with your blessings.
