“We were chosen, destined to live for the praise of his glory.”
Ephesians 1:3-6, 11-12
Today’s passage delves into the spiritual blessings we receive as believers in Christ. As we pray these verses, we must remember to praise and give gratitude towards God, the ultimate source of all blessings. We must always acknowledge God’s sovereignty and His abundant goodness towards us, His children. It serves as a reminder that all blessings, especially the spiritual ones, flow from Him. Our blessings are not material but deeply spiritual, residing in the heavenly places and rooted in our relationship with Christ. This distinction is crucial in a world that often prioritises material wealth and success. By highlighting the spiritual nature of our blessings, Paul redirects our focus to the eternal and transformative gifts we have in Christ.
One of the most striking aspects of these verses is the concept of predestination and election. The idea that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world speaks to His eternal love and sovereign plan for each believer. God loves us unconditionally, even before we came into existence. You are called to live in a manner that honours and glorifies Him, showcasing the transformative power of His grace. Do you?
