Saturday 6th of December
“You received without charge, give without charge.”
Matthew 9:35- 10:1,5,6-8
We often hear the phrase, “Nothing is free in this world.” Yet God proves this wrong entirely. He gave us His only Son, who died for our sins, something we neither deserved nor earned. Through Jesus’ death, we are redeemed and renewed in our hope for eternal life, which is truly the greatest gift. How generous is our God!
This season, we are called to be generous to others as well, to give freely of our time, our hearts, and our service. Is there someone we’ve been meaning to call but haven’t found the “right” time? What about helping someone we know who needs it, even if they are too shy or proud to ask? Can we be more charitable and forgiving toward those who test our patience? We are called to be generous not out of our own greatness, but because we have first received God’s love. We can give hope to others only because we have hope through God’s promise of eternal life. Lord Jesus, how are You calling me to give generously this season?
