Friday 25th September

“There is a time for every occupation under heaven.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

What time are we at in our lives now? We might be in a time for dying, a time for planting, or a time for uprooting what has been planted. We can reflect on all the times shared in the reading today. We can communicate with our God, Emmanuel, who is with us in all of these experiences.

What experience do we feel most strongly about? We can talk to God our Father about our feelings. We may have felt abandoned in our times of loss. We may have felt close to God in our joy and hope when we were at the birth of a new chapter for us. God tells us that no matter what stage we are at, especially if we are having a hard time, we cannot comprehend His work from beginning to end. Father, please help us to be faithful in praying to you, so that we can come to know and love you more and more every day. Help us to see how you are always with us, in our laughter, mourning, and dancing.
