“he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:8-9
Can we really say that we have no sin in our lives? The Word of God today says to us, if we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves. It only takes a few moments to stop and do a personal reflection and an examination of conscience to realise our sins. Sin is all that damages and separates our relationship with God, others and even myself.
We need only to acknowledge our sins because God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. So, why not prepare ourselves for the sacrament of reconciliation, where we can acknowledge our sins and receive the grace of Jesus’forgiveness? Every time we seek God’s mercy in the sacrament of reconciliation, it becomes a doorway to new life, where God transforms our weakness into grace.
