” Now he showed how perfect his love was”
John 23:1-15
Today’s reading exemplifies the perfect love of Jesus. Although he was the Son of God, Jesus humbled himself to become a servant, washing the disciple’s feet. His love knows no limits, and as it says, he loved them to the very end. Jesus loves us the same. As we mediate on this scene, we can imagine Jesus washing our feet too. What is our response to this profound display of humility and love?
Jesus also says ‘I have given you a model to follow’. He is our example of true humility and what it means to live a life of love. How is He asking me to become more humble and loving towards others?
Today, let us enter into this scene, so the we may encounter the love of Jesus for ourselves. Let us pray for the grace to become more like Him, our model and teacher.
