“The Son of Man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will.”
Matthew 26:14-25
Even in these most holy days, or Holy Week, many of us can still get caught up in the busyness of routines, plans, and work, which can slowly pull us away from Jesus. When our minds drift, we often take his grace for granted. It is only when we stop to pray that we can reconnect.
By looking at his life, we see how he prayed to stay connected to the Father, how he remained obedient to God’s will, and how he loved us unconditionally – accepting suffering and death to set us free. We realise then that we can do nothing on our own; we need to hold onto Jesus on our journey of life and faith. How do we keep our focus on him during this Lenten journey? What attachments are standing in the way of our relationship with him?
