“The Father and I are one.“
John 10:22-30
For some people, no amount of proof or argument will ever be enough to lead them to believe in the identity of Jesus as the Son of God. This was the experience Jesus had with some of the Jews. They gathered around him and asked, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus replied, “I have already told you, but you do not believe.”
Perhaps, there is an aspect of faith that we may struggle with, we might bring this to Jesus in prayer today. The Jewish authorities found it difficult to accept that Jesus placed himself on the same level as God. What they failed to realise was the unity that he shared with the father. They are so intimately united with the Father that they are one. Jesus carries out the work of the Father on earth, revealing God’s face and heart to the world. Today, let us allow Jesus to reveal the Father’s love to us.
