“Who are my mother and my brothers?”
Mark 3:31-35
Wherever Jesus went, he drew a crowd eager to hear his words of life, healing, and mercy. In today’s gospel, someone calls out that his mother and brothers are waiting for him. Jesus responds surprisingly, asking, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” He then states that those who do the will of God are his family. This is not a rejection of his earthly family but rather an expansion of what it means to belong to the family of God. Jesus’ love is inclusive, welcoming all who seek to do God’s will. May we strive to seek God’s will in our lives today.
