“You broke with idolatry when you were converted to God.”
1 Thessalonians 1:1-5, 8-10
In this passage, we are reminded of how we can be a witness of faith for others. St Paul sees the conversion of the people of Thessalonica from idol worship to praising the one God. They spread their faith, love and hope to others and were received well in many surrounding towns. When we witness to our faith, people see it in our lifestyle, our attitudes towards others, and how we deal with difficulties. This is why we should never be discouraged but allow the Holy Spirit to constantly move us out of ourselves to reach out to others, sharing the faith we have received.
How can our life become more of a witness for others? What moments in our lives truly changed us for the better? We are called to share this with others. Let us spread hope to others through the changes we have made through our faith and love in Jesus Christ.
