Sunday 23rd of February

 “Love your enemies.”

Luke 6:27-38

Today, Luke presents us with his version of the Beatitudes, which calls us to give love, forgiveness, generosity, and compassion to those around us, especially our enemies. How do we love our enemies? Do we treat others the way they treat us? Or according to the standards and values of Jesus? We are to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, showing love and mercy to all! Yes, even those we consider our enemies.

We are called to extend mercy and grace, creating a ripple effect of compassion that has the potential to transform our relationships and communities. In times of conflict or misunderstanding, the challenge lies in remembering that everyone is worthy of love and respect. We also need to remember that love is not a feeling but an active choice.

Lord, help us today to imitate you and share with others the love you have given us.
