“From now onwards we do not judge anyone by the standards of the flesh.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-21
St Paul shows us our new life in Christ when we look to love like him. Our worldly love limits us to certain people we want to love, yet in Christ, we learn to love and serve all our brothers and sisters. When Jesus died on the cross, he did so for all, not for “some” or only for believers. In our loving and our self-giving, this is the model that we are to follow. We are to show the merciful love of Jesus, rather than be judgmental of others.
How is our love for others? Do we show our love to only those we are close to or those we find difficult to love? Today, we are challenged to love, despite our sinful ways, understanding that we are all sinners and striving to grow closer to be like Christ in our lives. We are called to forgive and be reconciled to God, and to help others do the same.
