“They were like sheep without a shepherd.”
Mark 6:30-34
Jesus knows our hearts and knows that we, like sheep, tend to go astray with the many desires of the world. Who are we following? Instead of following Jesus, we follow social media, seek to please others, or make ourselves too busy and neglect those we care about. We become lost and desire for direction and purpose. Jesus sees this and knows our hearts and deep desire to be with him. Only Jesus, our Good Shepherd, can help pave the way in our lives. Through prayer, we realise that we deeply and truly desire Jesus in our lives. In our prayer today, let us open our hearts and minds to listen to his word, to guide and instruct us so that we may follow in his ways. Jesus is leading us so we may find our purpose in our lives, to learn to love and serve our brothers and sisters.
