“We have found the Messiah.”
John 1:35-42
The wise men from the east followed a star that led them to find the Messiah. This passage of the first disciples is reminiscent of the wise men’s search and their finding of the Messiah.
Andrew found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah.” Then, he brought him to Jesus. However, this encounter was initiated by John the Baptist, who pointed them to Jesus and said, “There is the lamb of God.” As we can see, there is movement when one is searching. And once we have found the Messiah, one can not help but go out to others and say, “Come and see for yourself.”
How do you search for the Messiah in your life? How do you make movements in your spiritual life? How do you go out to others and bring them to know Jesus? How do you invite them “to come and see”? The growth of any Christian group lies in the members actively inviting others.
