 “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Matthew 22:34-40

Sometimes we have a tendency to overcomplicate things for ourselves. When the Pharisees try to trick Jesus, his response reminds us that we just need to keep things simple to follow him. The essence of the Christian life is to love God.

Rules, even good rules, can get overwhelming, and in our desire to follow them, we may lose sight of their original intention. God’s law is to love, and we can live this by simply taking time to be with Him each day. What other ways are our lives demonstrating our love for God this Lent?
