“I press on the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward”

Philippians 3: 12-14

This is a beautiful passage that reminds us of the humble attitude we should always have. St Paul felt far from being conformed to Christ. But like a committed athlete, he is striving towards it by not dwelling on the past. He encourages us to keep our eyes on the eternal goal, which is Christ. We have imperfections, limitations, sinfulness and many shortcomings with our own personal characters, but none of these things should ever hold us up from running the race towards Christ.

Our eyes need to continue being fixed on God, who has called us from above. How are you running the race towards your eternal destination: Christ? How do you keep the gaze on Christ who has called you and already won you to himself? Or does your gaze turn inwards towards yourself and your imperfections?
