“If it is necessary to boast, let me proclaim the occasions on which I was found weak”.

2 Corinthians 11:18,21-30

St Paul is taking up the challenge of his adversaries, who are boasting about all their credentials as leaders. Paul boasts of all his experiences (vv 16-29) that follow in the humble footsteps of Christ’s suffering. Then he boasts about his weaknesses.

For us, we need to ponder our boastful words or attitudes. The question for us is, “Do I boast in the Lord?” Do I boast of my weaknesses in order to proclaim the strength that comes from God?” Let us talk with Jesus about this in prayer today. And may we also learn from St Paul how to boast only in the goodness of the Lord and what he can do in and through us.
